Leads shrink, but not by much

The three city council candidates endorsed by firefighters and the golf course operator look likely to take office. After a second count, the leads enjoyed by Eric Noble, Lisa Scott and Rich Hartman shrank slightly over their respective challengers, but each has a sizable lead in the OS City Council races. According to the election website, 2,100 ballots remain to be count; an unknown number of them are in Ocean Shores. The closest race is Position 7, where Hartman has a 177-vote lead *corrected over Patric Hayes; his lead shrank by just under 1% since the first ballot count. In Position 1, Noble is 233 votes ahead of incumbent Susan Conniry; his lead dropped by about 1.3%. In Position 5, Scott remains far ahead of Patrick Daugherty, with a 338-vote lead; but her big lead was shaved by 1.2% since the first count.

This is really a sad outcome! I guess being deceitful wins the race!

The next count is on Nov 10th. I am confident that Hartman, Noble and Scott will prevail which is a win for all residents of Ocean Shores. Congratulations are in order and hopefully those that lost will support the new 2022 City Council and be part of the solutions and not part of the problem. Looking forward to less talk about issues and more results.

Mike; less talk about the issues is exactly what the problem is. I predict that the future will see even less talk about the issues as the new voting block will no longer need to talk to anyone but themselves. A win by the 3 on a sign is a long way from a win for all as the numbers show.

Move while you still can, they are going to tax the residents into the out of their homes. Think about it Lisa is a “Renter” working for a different city. She will do it just for the free lunches she gets from supporting dumb ideas.

Your math is off. They actually all increased their lead over their opponents numerically, just not by percentage. And it looks like the difference in seat 7 is much higher than you printed.

Funny how Hartman, after apparently winning, is now eager to identify himself as having out of town addresses when he so carefully tried to identify himself as just one of the long time locals. Still trying to get the wool out of our eyes?

Lisa and Eric did very little campaining. They let Rich’s money (he spent $26,000 for a job that pays $4200 a year) buy the win for them.
