Is “The Three Amigos” derogatory?

If so, I will stop using it, and instead use something like, “The three candidates who are on signs together.”

It’s not derogatory if it’s true. I for one think it’s true.

Did not realize the two Pats and Susan were a voting block? I have not seen rheir names on the same BS signs. You must know something the rest of us don’t. I’ll wait for you to enlighten us!

The two Pats and a Susan have been a voting block since the end of May. They coordinated and met, and came up with their tactics and their labels. I admire Dougherty for not allowing his banner on the fired fire chiefs house like Hayes and Susan did. The difference is “ transparency”.

I’m not sure which word your are referencing as “derogatory”? The, three or amigos? It’s ok with me if you use “the three friends on the sign together.” But, friends can be amigos, also, can’t they? Ok, just kidding – keep up the good work.

Is it derogatory to the citizens when 3 council members knowingly band together and run a mis-leading and lie based campaign dreamed up solely so that the 3 could seem to fly in like Mighty Mouse and save the day, when it didn’t need saving anyway? Is it derogatory for at least one to hire a professional mouthpiece to answer the publics’ questions in a way that research shows will please them? I think that “3 Amigos” is way too nice a term for them; perhaps the “mayors 3 stooges” would be more accurate. Their actions are far more offensive to the public than any commonly used nickname ever could be to them. Politics in O/S keeps getting more rotten and dirty by the year and the only to say”STOP IT” is at the ballot box. I hope people can see things the way they really are before it is too late.

Call them what you want. You already have numerous times. I can’t wait for the change. All 3 are great choices.

Well, we agree! Since two of the referenced 3 are currently in office I too can’t wait for the change. The third mouseketeer(like it better?) wants aboard strictly for his own benefit; how many seated councilmembers have been denied building permits or variances as requested. A great way to become a successful developer is to go right from planning commission to council to ensure adoption of regulations beneficial to your plans. Why, one could get Rich that way! Don’t be fooled by fancy drivel produced by marketing professionals, there is an agenda here and it is not backed by any long term involvement in Ocean Shores civic affairs. Remember, most donations and sponsorships are tax deductions actually costing the business person nothing. We shall see if an election in Ocean Shores can be bought by professional marketing!

Well, Amigos means friends. But, in this election this term has been used in a derogatory manner. And if you drive around town you will see the “other 3” have signs grouped together. So in spite of the double standard, and trying to take the high road, my question is, “would the other 3 feel offended if they were labeled the 3 stooges?” If so, grow up and run a clean campaign.

Just what is a “clean campaign”? one with no lies or mis-representations? One where you answer questions for yourself, not hire some pro to formulate a popular answer? Just what? If any of those things are part of a “clean campaign” then some and/or all of the “amigos ,stooges, mouseketeers, triumverate or any group identifying names you like best’ just don’t qualify. Maybe some of us need to grow up and see the real truth in the dirty politics in our little town.
