Journalists are used to asking questions, but one of the candidates for the three OS council seats turned the tables on me: “Are you being paid to write the articles you are posting? Just curious.”

That is a strange question. I wonder what the point was? Even if you were being paid, if you report the facts, what difference does it make? So, if you were being paid, would your reporting be any different?

Might make a difference which candidate but not asking. There could be some idea to offer more pay to not report, especially when the truth might not go down so easily. There was almost certainly a reason beyond “just curious”.
