Mutiny at the Firehouse, Part 6: The Ultimatum

Mutineering firefighters march into the mayor’s offfice and demand action: “On December 13, 2018, Lt. Kuhl and Capt. Krick met with Mayor Dingler and Dani Smith and advised them that the union had taken a vote of no confidence in Chief Bathke at the previous union meeting on December 10, 2018. Lt. Kuhl presented the Maple Valley letter as part of the complaints the union members had against Bathke.

“They stated that if she did not do what they asked they would take it to the ‘press and news.'” (“Bathke v. Ocean Shores,” p 22-23)

  1. Seems to me she should have told them to go right ahead. She hired the Chief because they couldn’t be trusted to behave themselves, how was it going to look bad for her if they went to the press…Unless…What did they have on her?
